For the trend-aware, Copenhagen offers plenty of gems. The Hotel Coco, the boutique hotel in Vesterbro, has everything you need for a few nights' stay. Vintage furniture, good wine and the perfect location make Coco a real favourite. The hotel is a stone's throw from the best cafés, restaurants, and shops in Vesterbro. The Italocaffé is about a few minutes walk away and here you can enjoy a great espresso, or why not a Sicilian granita? Should it be fully booked, go a little further down the street to RIST. Stroll around the area, which has many second-hand and concept shops. For lunch, why not walk towards the Meat Packing District, where Gaza Grill and Paté Paté are located.
Do not underestimate the possibility of taking in style inspiration from the surroundings. In the above-mentioned places and the surrounding streets, it is teeming with style-conscious people. Everything from a perfectly tailored wool suit from Sunflower, to the latest sneakers from New Balance can cycle past you while you enjoy your coffee. In the combination above, wear contemporary, Danish tones in the form of a chequered overshirt from Samsøe & Samsøe with a pair of brightly coloured trousers from Palmes.
For those who want to experience Copenhagen's inner city, the destination is Indre By. Hotel Sanders exudes luxury. There, botanical plants are blended with the finest Danish design. An oasis with a cosy courtyard, a rooftop bar with a view of the city and the TATA cocktail bar to round off the evening. A nice morning walk or bike ride where you cross the Royal Park Kongens Have and get to the café Apotek 57 is a good start to the day. The latter is a popular place for locals.
The art museum Glyptoteket is a must-see that takes you back to the central parts of the capital. Lunch can be eaten either outside on Refshaleøen, where Reffen's food court offers street food from all over the world, or at the well-known Torvehallerne market halls with local produce of the highest quality. The obligatory after-meal coffee can be ordered at Lille Bakery. A short distance away, we find the courtyard with the interior design and design store Bauche Maché. Next door you find their usually fully booked restaurant where the cosy atmosphere makes you question whether you are in Copenhagen or the Marais in Paris.
